November 28, 1582 in Temple Grafton, near Stratford, 18-year-old Shakespeare married the 26-year-old girlfriend Anne Hathaway.

Two neighbors Hathaway, Fulk Sendels and John Richardson, vouched that there is no legal impediment to the marriage. It is possible that the ceremony had been prepared in a hurry; their first daughter, Susanna, was born on May 26, 1583, 6 months after the wedding. 

Twins, son Hamnet and daughter Judith, were baptized 2 February 1585. Hamnet died in 1596, Susanna in 1649 and Judith in 1662.
